The 10 Commandments of Mother Earth

Shared by HumanityHealing on YouTube [excellent for meditation] --

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF MOTHER EARTH
by Ernest Callenbach

I. Thou shall love and honor the Earth for it blesses thy life and governs thy survival.
II. Thou shall keep each day sacred to the Earth and celebrate the turning of its seasons.
III. Thou shall not hold thyself above other living things nor drive them to extinction.
IV. Thou shall give thanks for thy food, to the creatures and plants that nourish thee.
V. Thou shall educate thy offspring for multitudes of people are a blessing unto the Earth when we live in harmony.
VI. Thou shall not kill, nor waste Earth's riches upon weapons of war.
VII. Thou shall not pursue profit at the Earth's expense but strive to restore its damaged majesty.
VIII. Thou shall not hide from thyself or others the consequences of thy actions upon the Earth.
IX. Thou shall not steal from future generations by impoverishing or poisoning the Earth.
X. Thou shall consume material goods in moderation so all may share the Earth's bounty.

Back from Bethany Beach, Delaware, and a visit with family (see pix soon on Facebook and Flickr.com and some now at QuickTakes.org), I am delving back into the healthcare struggle. After talking with my congressmember last month (pix on Flickr.com) and taking part in the Move-On vigil AND making lots of phone calls, I am still determined that something good is possible. It will take a lot of work and MORE phone calls and discussion with others to do likewise. I went to NY congressmember Anthony Weiner's website and left this message:

Dear Congressmember Weiner

Thanks for your vocal ardent support for a good healthcare plan, as defined for FireDogLake
[see below] and on Rachel Maddow. PLEASE work for a consurmer-oriented one AND convince my congressmember Joe Crowley who says he's with me to come along with YOU in getting something that will really HELP middle class and working people. Single payer is BEST. A "robust public option" -- comprehensive, affordable, independent of insurance companies is the compromise. A WEAK public option that benefits the insurance companies is an ABSOLUTE NO-GO. Indeed, anything that benefits those blood suckers is a no-go.

Healthcare is a right, not a privilege and should NOT be a profit-maker Simple as that. We are talking healing and people's lives. Please keep money out of it.

I'm really impressed with what you are saying. Now, make it so!

Thanks.

Kate Anne

Please continue to make phone calls to your congressmember and senators (switchboard: 202-224-3121) in support of the healthcare needs of We the People. Ruth Klein, the Button Buddha, can supply you with a good political button on the issue. Buy one from her and wear it: ButtonBuddha (@) gmail.com.

Single Payer Best / Public Option is the COMPROMISE

[Click on letter to enlarge]

The Democratic Party is rumored to be defecting on the compromise for Single Payer Healthcare, which is an affordable, comprehensive public option. I've made my phone calls but I'm sending letters to Senators Schumer and Gillibrand as well as to US Representative Joe Crowley. I used the Nicole Hollander card from Physicians for a National Health Program to create the stationery. They are all pretty much the same, but Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's has an additional edge added to it because she has betrayed me before.

Please join me in doing something similar and get it in the mail now to your LOCAL congressional offices. Washington DC mail is slooooooooow. Thanks!

Peace hugs,
Kate Anne

A little angelic comfort

Things have been a bit stressful for me, indeed many of us, lately with some financial and health worries and I have been blessed with some healing synchronicity. I discovered author Joan Wester Anderson on Facebook, thanks to her page there being connected with that of Fr. John Dear, former executive director of national Fellowship of Reconciliation. Joan's angel and miracle stories have been a resource for me and my family through the years. It is good to reconnect and see she has some new stuff out. She's even on Twitter and I will have to find and connect with her there. Twitter offers a lot and I'm enjoying the informational and friendship connections.

Find more on Joan here, I've pasted her short YouTube meditation at Quick Takes, and find me on Twitter as PeaceHugs. Let's be comforted knowing that angels and miracles do touch us, perhaps not in big ways very often, but still in all sorts of beautiful and healing ways. In Rogers and Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song there is an eye-opening song, "A Hundred Million Miracles". Let's go forth today and everyday a little more aware of them. It does our souls well.

Political and peace action work can drain us if we don't maintain our spiritual connection. In my life I have learned that the more angels and miracles I acknowledge and affirm with thanks, the more they multiply. Read Joan Wester Anderson's books for inspiration. I recommend starting with Where Angels Walk, a family favorite.
