Sane insight from Rachel Maddow's Campaign Asylum

For an articulate and witty look at the campaign trail, check out Air America Radio's Rachel Maddow on YouTube. This is one of an excellent and continuing series:

On a personal note -- Yes, I'm back from Ohio, with son's wedding pictures yet to be posted on my Flickr.com site -- soon (but you can see Kat's wedding pix). Also, to do: corporate America job, progressive liberal politics, new apartment de-boxing, Air America Radio podcast catch-up, world peace, staying sane. Not necessarily in that order. Thank God for Rachel Maddow and a little bit of humor.

Peace hugs,
Kate Anne

Laura Flanders and her Bloggers

It is Sunday and that means Laura Flanders at 1 PM eastern time on Air America Radio. Today, her show Radio Nation, albeit abbreviated from her wonderful 3 hour Saturday and Sunday segments of old, was still excellent AND some of her Laura bloggers were blogging faithfully, thanks to Maggie's Boy at his special Blue Grit Blog. Laura's one hour show hasn't been given its own blog and no one seems to be pushing blogging at the Air Americans's pot pourri show, where Mark Riley reigns and Laura Flanders visits. It is just not the same so I give more thanks to Maggie's Boy and my other Laura blogger friends, some of whom I have also joined to happily blog at Sam Seder's show site. I will choose to accentuate the positive, even as I hope and lobby Air America Radio for more of Laura Flanders.

Peace hugs,
Kate Anne

Woof to Dogs Against Romney

I am happy to pass along this link, courtest of AAR's Rachel Maddow : Dogs Against Romney. Since Audient told me of Mitt Romney's dog abuse, I've been more than interested in this story. I may be a cat person but, as my Flickr.com pictures suggest, I have great love for my God-dogs, Munchkin and Barney Bear and other terrific canines. Check out this site and leave comments there. Truly worth barking up!

Peace hugs,

Common Dreams: Open Letter to Nancy Pelosi

Following up on An Open Letter to Nancy Pelosi posted on July 9th at CommonDreams.org, I followed the lead of commenter Terran and went to Speaker Nancy Pelosi's page [ see below for link ] to leave this comment on Impeachment:

Impeachment has got to be put back on the table and FAST. With the latest atrocity, the commutation of Libby's sentence, it is only more than ever clear these people have no shame. Please read at CommonDreams.org the Open letter written to you on July 8, direct link: http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/07/08/2381/

It doesn't matter if there is no conviction, that the Senate may be partisan at looking at this. Bush and Cheney need to wear the Scarlet I, just as Nixon did. And it is high time we serve justice more than what may or may not be good for Democratic candidates in 2008. Personally, I think it will be BETTER for them if we do impeach the Son of a Bush and Cheney -- read the latest polls. Then act to IMPEACH.

At the very least push H.Res. 333 and start with Cheney.

Thank you.

Read John Atcheson's open letter [title link] and then please do similarly.

Brad Blog: USA Today - Al Gore WON!!

If you aren't reading The Brad Blog, you should follow my title link and bookmark him: activism and information wonderfully blogged. My Technorati favorites feed blessed me with another good column, Brad answering back to USA Today and Frank Luntz, who would have Al Gore losing. No way! -- as Brad explains:

Supposed to be cooling my holiday heels a bit today, but couldn't let this one pass without comment. USA Today has an article this morning anointing psychologist Drew Westen, author of The Political Brain: The Role of Emotion in Deciding the Fate of the Nation, as the Democrats new political rhetoric guru.

Nonetheless, in her article, headlined "Democrats get advice on how to talk about issues," reporter Jill Lewis can't seem to help but pass on the conventional wisdom (read: lies) of Republican rhetoric guru/liar Frank Luntz.

"Al Gore should have won" in 2000, Lewis unquestioningly quotes Luntz as telling her. "He lost because Americans didn't want him in their living rooms every night.

No. He "lost" because one vote on the Supreme Court determined that the man who won both the national popular vote, as well as the electoral vote in Florida, should not have his votes counted as cast. MORE

Leave it to Brad to speak the truth to the rightist not really liberal media. And don't hesitate to remind your friends that Al Gore won. (Dare we talk about THAT Supreme Court?!?)

Breathe, relax, focus -- and get prepared for more actions. Thanks, Brad!

Scooter's out (hiss!) but Kat is celebrating something else

I'm furious about Scooter Libby's sentence being commuted by the Son of a Bush in the White House. He deserves to serve hard time and Dubya's legal but unethical action is one more reason to impeach him -- but impeach Cheney first, puh-lease!! Or impeach the two together, and tough luck, Nancy Pelosi! How much injustice is too much injustice?

All that said, today is Little Kat's birthday and she provides some reason to celebrate. Happy Birthday, Little Kat!! I missed her party where Big Brother slept. Beam me up, Scotty -- out of Bush world.

Peace hugs,
Kate Anne

Update: I contacted my Congressmember Joe Crowley's office and spoke with Martin about impeaching Bush and/or at least Cheney (Support H. Res. 333!) and then called Nancy Pelosi's office. Act now! Bush is trying to cover his own butt! Call Congress at 202-224-3121 to express your outrage.
