Gregory: "I could vote for a Democrat - but not Hillary"

The above statement was made to me today by my brother Gregory, a nominal Democrat but a beloved rightist ditto head who joined the Democratic party to work on Paul Tsongas' campaign some years back. He also says he likes John Edwards. When will the mainstream Democratic party get the message? Will they get the message in time to make a difference? The way they have been screwing up, I wonder.

Peace hugs,
Kate Anne

Hi, Kate.. I'm a first time visitor, but I see you like John Edwards. The most current numbers I have on him are a bit dated, but I think pretty telling.

-------------------------

In head-to-head polling against the likes of Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney, Clinton and Obama, while impressive, have managed to post only modest leads. Edwards, by contrast, not only bests every Republican candidate in the race, he trounces them -- by an average of twelve points.

As reported in Rolling Stone:

Thanks for popping in, JK -- as I understand it, Edwards continues to do well in the polling when matched with Republicans. Thom Hartmann does a unannounced call-in poll certain days on Air America Radio and usually it is John Edwards followed by Dennis Kucinich. (I think one time Kucinich beat Edwards, but that was a pre-announced poll and it was felt that the Kucinich people had organized.) Granted, that is a progressive show, but still.....

Hi, again. Thom Hartmann is another recent name on my list. I visited his website last night after seeing this submission to Digg that all but went ballistic. After voting there I visited his website and noticed he was on MyBlogLog. It was through that connection that I found your site.

In any case, nice to meet you and best of luck in the elections. No doubt things are about to tighten up quickly.

Cheers!

Like JK, i decided to check out your url from my progressive on the airwaves- Hartmann.

I agree with yer blog. I'd take it a step further and ask the Democratic Party: When will you stop playing politics with American lives, the national economy and (arguably most important to people like me in Montana) the national environment?
