Is There a Case for Impeachment?

Obviously, most of the 1500 folks packed into NYC's Town Hall at 43rd and Sixth Avenue thought so as we listened to a panel moderated by Sam Seder consisting of Rep. John J. Conyers, Republican now Independent John Dean, former Congressmember Elizabeth Holzman, Lewis H. Lapham (Harpers Magazine editor, article link above), and Michael Ratner (Center for Constitutional Rights). Read Lewis Lapham's article, title link, and that of Liz Holtzman at the Nation Magazine.

Afterwards Gail Harper and I spoke briefly with Fooled Again author, Mark Crispin Miller. And Democrats.com 's Bob Fertik was kind enough to take this picture of me with Mark and Gail:

I told Mark I have family in Ohio and love his book. Read it and let's stop another stolen election. And investigate all of the causes then impeach Bush AND Cheney.

Peace Hugs,
Kate Anne

As a resident of New Orleans displaced to Virginia with my wife, leaving our house empty though fortunately with little damage, I judge that the funds and the human ressources which could have been used to reconstruct the flood protection of New Orleans and to reconstruct the United States of America in general, have instead been diverted into an unnecessary war, which was pre-emptive in nature and which was opposed by international leaders. This arrogant waste of wealth and human lives is immoral, and we must name it a crime. It is a crime against humanity, and for such high crimes George Bush and his cabal must be removed from their offices.

George Bush is by far the worst person in our history to ever hold the title of President! He has systematically destroyed this nation in every possible way.

YES, THIS VILLAGE IDIOT SHOULD BE IMPEACHED!!

He is financially irresponsible, he is a pathological liar, he is the worst at building and maintaining foreign relations and worst of all, he has proven time and time again that he couldn't care less about this country.

Katrina victims are the proof of that. It is an absolute disgrace to see that these storm ravaged states look the same as they did the day after the storm! Six months later... Bush wants to send billions into that illegal war machine in Iraq, instead of doing the right thing and providing the means to these folks so that they can rebuild their homes and businesses. Bush is a major disgrace for all of us!!

This entire administration needs to be removed and soon!

I live in Michigan where the job loss and poor economy are felt the worst. I have never seen it so bad in the 48 years I have been around. I have never had any problem getting a job until now.

We have so many immigrants taking so many jobs that whole industries while no tthe best paying are at any rate unavailable to the growing list of unemployed persons who would like some type of job to fall back on.

The war we all know is based on lies and fed by cuts in all manner of necessary programs here at home.

The lies come out of this administration like machine gun fire. And I hate to point it out but there are so few we can count on in washington it is time for an overhaul. We have to undo the damamge done by these criminals soon.

Impeachment is a nice word but imprisonment is much more warranted.

Imprisonment would entail unnecessary expense - they should be changing bedpans at Walter Reed for the rest of their natural lives!

Blah Blah Blah. People keep talking about impeaching Bush, nothing ever happens. History will see you all as all talk no walk. Bush needs more than impeachment. A trial for war crimes is required.

Robert Desmarais Sullivan,

You were directly affected by the hurricane, and you didn't even bother to do the research to find out WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED that day?

Here's 2 words to start your search

Levy
Bomb

WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!

We have allowed our country to fall into disgrace by electing and re-electing selfish and corrupt leaders based on a single voting issue such as abortion or gay rights. These leaders could care less about where our jobs are being outsourced to. I have never had a problem finding a job. Competition was minimal. I have been looking for employment since October of last year, and when I apply for a simple part-time job I find myself amongst dozens or hundreds of other applicants. That is how bad things have gotten here in La Crosse, Wisconsin. But hey, Iraq is more important.

I think it is time for America to wake up and smell the single-mindedness that has permeated our country. Then we should "outsource" the Bush Administration and our senators and representatives to Iraq. We could save ourselves alot of lives and money!

The Logical Iran Strategy :

Has being known for decades that USA Presidents are puppets of an out-of-spot-light group who dictates the American policies . That’s why the American policies are so uniform over decades regardless who or what party is in power and that’s why presidents like Clinton – who refused to attack Iraq – where setup and eliminated. So it is natural that a predictable line of actions will follow in Iran …

As on March 20th 2006 – the New Year in Iran – the Oil Bursary will open dealing exclusively in Euros the question asked by the shady control group in US is how to neutralize it . Not to do so will mean great loses to American business following the crash of the US dollar . So how it can be done considering the very stretched US military resource at the present time ?

Actually it’s quite simple … The mini-nukes were developed not just for bunker busting but for a far more sinister purposes : imagine the days following the attack on Iran . Stealth bombers will drop mini-nukes on the selected bunkers and the nuclear installations .

However , one night during the attack one or two mini-nuke armed stealth bombers will be reported as damaged by stray Iranian anti aircraft guns causing the bombers to crash with the Armed mini-nukes . The catch is the location of the crashes : the Iranian oil fields … Once a few ground penetrating ( bunker busting ) mini-nukes detonate in the heart of the Iranian oil fields the oil deposits will be contaminated with Radioactive residue . The immediate consequence : the Iranian oil will be rendered useless and Un-sellable for a few thousands of years … Bingo ! Mission accomplished : the Euro Bursary will have nothing to sell .
Another immediate consequence is that Iranians will be immediately thrown back in the dark ages since their only major revenues are from oil sales .

So this “accidental” crash of the nuke carrying bombers will accomplish four wanted targets by the US shady control group :

- eliminate for ever the Iranian Euro bursary
- throw Iran in the dark ages and hence protect Israel
- hype the price of oil to astronomical numbers
- serve as a tough warning for any Euro wanna-be Arab oil producing countries

And all this will be claimed as a war accident …

But don’t prey to god since it doesn’t exit , instead talk to your Congress person . And get in the streets protesting . ASAP !

Over here in the netherlands I sure hope that the people of the U.S. will soon succeed in impeaching their dictator and sending him to prison... or they gonna get everything they deserve. If the US people condone having the neocon cabal in control of the White House, Pentagon and Corporate Elites, then they will be held accountable.

HATS OFF TO "THE LOGICAL IRAN STRATEGY"

You are exactly right about what is going to happen in Iran!

Saddam Hussein was never a threat to us, but as you may know, Iraq was about to start trading their oil under the euro. Look at 'em now!

I agree the Bush is the worst president we have ever had, however criticizing him for NOT responding to hurricane Kartina is inappropriate. If you are to criticize him regarding Katrina, you should do so for responding at all, since there is absolutely no authority at all in the US constitution for the federal government to aid disaster victims. I criticize Bush for violating the constitution by stealing my money and giving it to people who choose to figuratively pitch their tents in the middle of railroad tracks.

Should Bush be impeached? Hell yes, but not for failing to steal my money.

Interesting comments, thanks all --wish I could back to some of you, but let it be said that Rep. Conyers said he wants to investigate Dubya for impeachment even though he knows it can go nowhere without a huge public outcry waking up the Republicans (suggested by the panelists, fyi) or with the Dems taking over with the 2006 elections, BECAUSE he can't just remain silent. We know he is guilty but we have to get the Dems to speak up -- please go to Democrats.com and look at Bob Fertik's action items: TALK TO YOUR LEGISLATORS!!! Get them to join with Conyers in cosponsoring H.Res. 635 -- only 27 co-sponsors so far. Extra points for talking to Republicans. We HAVE to keep telling them until they listen. Remember Republicans supported Nixon's impeachment.

Thanks!!

RE: The Logical Iran Strategy

If anyone with a brain cell doesn't see the bombing of Iran coming (this year, probably in May or June) then they are clearly in the dark ages.
